LOS ANGELES, Oct. 1 — The famed Hollywood El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood has been upgraded to 3D cinema leader RealD’s XL Cinema System in time for the highly-anticipated debut of Disney PIXAR’s Toy Story and Toy Story 2 Disney Digital 3D(TM) double feature beginning October 2nd. Powered by RealD for 3D presentations since the release of Disney’s Chicken Little in 2005, the landmark El Capitan Theatre is the highest attended RealD 3D theatre in the world.

Originally released by Walt Disney Pictures in 1995, Toy Story went on to receive Oscar® nominations for Original Screenplay, Original Score, and Original Song earning Lasseter a Special Achievement Award “for his inspired leadership of the Pixar ‘Toy Story’ Team, resulting in the first feature-length computer-animated film.” Toy Story 2 was released in 1999, and reunited voice talents Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, in their roles as Woody and Buzz. The film became one of the most popular animated features of all time, and received an Academy Award® nomination for Original Song. Toy Story 3 in Disney Digital 3D is scheduled for release in June 2010.
